A Beautiful Baby Shower

I am a blessed woman to have amazing family and friends who love and support me!  This past weekend I enjoyed a beautiful baby shower in honor of my little boy Eliott James!

First let me start by showing you how incredibly cute the invitations were!  I love the idea of natural browns and lace doilies.

This was also added into the invite to encourage anyone who wanted to help build baby’s bookshelf!

We played some fun games and of course opened gifts!  I was so honored to have my Pastor’s wife Pam come and share a beautiful devotional.  She read one of my favorite verses, reminding all of us that children are indeed a blessing!

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” – Psalm 127: 3-5

I also took a minute to thank everyone for coming and supporting our little family, then I had my mother and mother-in-law stand up as I thanked them for how they raised my husband and I, for pouring into our lives and loving us as they have and continue to do!  It brought tears to my eyes, and I am glad I was able to honor them for all that they have fulfilled through motherhood!  I am excited to join them in the journey!

A few more random shots of the decorations!

I want to give a shout out to my girlfriends who put so much time and energy into giving me such an awesome shower!  They went above and beyond…I am so appreciative!  Thank you ladies for being creative, for making the whole day wonderful, and for loving me so much!

That is so cute! Two of my best friends just threw me a baby shower last weekend.  It was a blast.  We played some fun games, ate mini cupcakes (my favorite!), and ended with opening some adorable little gifts for baby Ben who is due Dec 30.  The best part was my mom was able to drive up from Iowa to visit for the weekend.  Over all it was a very fun day and a blessing.

I never would have thought of that. Need to remember this, just in case. Be blessed:)

How beautiful! I love that idea of a mail in baby shower for someone overseas!!

I had both my babies overseas, as my husband is from the Venice area. My sweet mother planned two fantastic mail-in showers. (In Italy, they do not do showers). I was so blessed to be showered daily with little packages arriving filled with cute boy clothes, and everything blue. And then, two years later, with darling girl clothes and pink, pink, pink for my sweet daughter. I am so grateful to my Mama and all my dear friends that participated. It was an endless party! So blessed!

That is so awesome that they gave you a shower sooner in your pregnancy. With my first one the shower was a little over a month before my due date and we had to scramble to get everything set up in time b/c we had nothing! I was upset b/c I was so big, I simply wasn’t able to help with a lot of it, like setting up the crib and swing, etc. This time since we already have everything, I was able to enjoy setting everything up and I’ve had an absolute blast! I’ve realized that most of my friends’ showers were about a month away from their due date too and have wondered why that is? A momma needs more time to prepare so she can relax in that last month or two. Maybe it’s just me b/c I get a HUGE belly…lol…so I’m pretty well useless in the last month or so. I’m pretty well there now. Had to start training my toddler a couple months ago to be a little more independent and praising the Lord that it is paying off now! He’s momma’s little helper! It’s been a blessing to share in your story. Thank you!

Congrats on your shower soon-to-be momma! I asked guests to bring gas cards. There was a family who’s daughter was in the NICU and they lived over an hour away. Those who brought gas cards had their name put in a drawing for prizes! Congrats to you and your husband and be blessed:)
