Break Every Chain That Holds Down Your Marriage

This morning my husband rolled out of bed early to spend time at breakfast with a few good friends in town visiting. Our son had not been feeling well, so I stayed home to care for him. When my son woke up he stayed in my bed a little while longer soaking up the energy he would later expend. I opened my laptop and placed it on the bed next to my toddler, turning up the volume while Pandora played worship music. As my son lay calmly in bed I took advantage of the time to finally put the laundry away that had been curled up in a pile in the corner of the room for almost a week.

In the midst of my morning, cleaning my bedroom, and glancing back and forth at my son to see how he was doing, I had an extraordinary moment with The Lord. A familiar intro of a song came resounding from my speakers. My heart immediately connected and was ready to be inspired. Tasha Cobb’s beautiful and strong voice led me to the throne room of grace, reminding:

THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

I continued to hang clothes up in our closet as I sang along. I have always enjoyed this song and the divine authority that Tasha sings with. However, this morning, this time listening was different. I raised my hands in the air and I smiled at my son, singing even louder. I told my son we were worshipping God. The lyrics continued to inspire me,

THERE IS AN ARMY RISING UP!

Yes, Lord. I thought out loud. Rise us up, Jesus. We are your family, we are your army. We serve you God! The crowd from the live recording reminded me of the many other Christians who follow Jesus and believe in the power of His name! We are His army. Chills ran over my body.

Every time I sang the words,

BREAK EVERY CHAIN!

The Lord brought to my mind chains that I had been burdened by. Chains holding down me, my husband, my child – desperately wanting nothing more than to be set free from the things that hold us down, tear us apart, cause pain or suffering.

Then Tasha boldly commands,

RAISE YOUR VOICE. CALL IT BY NAME. YOU DECLARE THAT THE CHAINS ARE BROKEN!

Faith rose up from my heart and I believed that God was breaking the chains in our marriage, our life. I called out to Him, “Lord, break the chains of pornography that try and grip my husband! Keep him from faltering Lord, I don’t want it to claim him ever again!” Through tears I continued to pray, “Break the chains of laziness and feelings of inadequacy in me. Break the chains of sickness in my son! Heal his body and set him free from being sick.”

I believed in faith the chains were broken!

I HEAR THE CHAINS FALLING.

I wept before The Lord. I felt so incredibly close to Him with my hands in the air, praising Him for setting my family free! And I imagined the noise of chains falling, not just from me or my marriage and family, but for all those who call upon the name of Jesus.

I urge you to take ten minutes and play this song loudly. Let the words sink into your heart, your soul. Let your spirit connect with God. Pray out loud and claim freedom in Jesus’ name from the chains in your life or your husband’s life. I pray this blesses you as it has me. The Lord gets all the glory!

Thank you Tasha Cobb for using your talent to spread the name of Jesus!
