Are You More Like His Mother than His Lover? popular posts guest articles married life marital intimacy Christian wives christian husbands Unveiled Wife

Jolene Engle is one of the first bloggers I have met face to face.  She is sweet, compassionate, and a strong woman of God.  Today I have the honor of featuring her as a guest!  She has brought a great topic to discuss, challenging us wives whether we treat our husbands like his mother or his lover.  If this is something you struggle with please share in the comments below!

Jolene writes:

The need to control. That’s what we do as wives.

It’s our flesh seeping out and if we can’t get it under control, then our marital oneness will start to erode.

“And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.” Genesis 3:16 (NLT)

Here’s what mothering our men looks like:

We tell him he doesn’t know how to parent, how to handle finances, how to lead the family, or even how to buy groceries! Don’t believe me on this? Take a look around at our society and you’ll see how we’re being conditioned by the world as they tell us that men are a bunch of idiots, completely incompetent to handle even the smallest tasks.

Can you just let things go and enjoy the man you married? Read Full Article

10 Commitments To A Better Marriage popular posts encouragements for wives commit to marriage better marriage Unveiled WifeIf you are like me, you love to write out “To-Do-Lists” usually of things that need to get done that day, or week, or month! Clean the laundry, back-up photos, call my friend, pay a bill, etc.

My problem with the To-Do-List is that I spend more time creating it, then actually committing to doing the things I hope to accomplish.  I find these lists randomly laying around in different places of my chaotic life; stuffed among other piles of paperwork, folded in pants pockets, laying in the corner of the room, or floating through the car when the windows come down. Dear Lord,

There are many wives who desire children, yet after trying they still have not conceived.  May you fill their hearts with hope and secure them with your peace.  May your will be done in their marriages and may they honor you whether you gift them children or not.  We pray that you would anoint their wombs and give them the ability to experience motherhood, or give them the means to adopt.  We pray that your power would guide these wives and remind them of their worthiness.   Remind them that you have a perfect plan for them and desire that they trust in you.  We pray that their husbands would love on them and also comfort them.  May these marriages feel revived in Jesus name Amen!

Apathy In Marriage The Pain Of Losing My Husbands Affection popular posts guest articles sacrifice Rejection Commitment Apathy affection Unveiled Wife

Apathy in marriage is a silent killer of relationship.  It tears couples apart and damages the affection once held in high esteem.  Jennifer Roos is a guest today sharing how apathy affected her marriage and the pain she experienced of losing her husband’s affection.  If you can relate in any way or find encouragement through this article please share in the comments below.

Jennifer writes:

I rolled over toward the wall and pulled my knees up to my chest. I shut my eyes tightly, forcing the tears back in. The room was dark and I felt defeated by an invisible enemy called apathy. It had crept into our marriage, unanticipated and unnoticed, secretly hypnotizing us and eroding our love for each other. Entranced by our obscure opponent, we had become emotional strangers.

Last week we encouraged you to Revive Your Prayers In Marriage! This week we are encouraging you to Revive Your Attitude In Marriage!

Attitude is a way of thinking and it’s reflected through behavior.  It is what determines how we respond to people or situations.

Because attitude stems from perspective, it can quickly change.  I am all too familiar with attitude.  My attitude can change based on my experience at the grocery store or facing writer’s block when trying to come up with new content for my blog.

The Power Of Prayer In Marriage testimonies popular posts Revive Your Prayers prayer in marriage prayer Unveiled Wife

Do you believe in the power of prayer in marriage?

I DO! In fact, I share a portion of my own marriage testimony in a short video posted in this weeks:

Revive Your Prayers  In Marriage – Marriage Series.

Prayer is very important to me, for personal growth in my faith, for marital growth and to align my relationship with God, and also for ministry growth, which is why I try to commit to posting a Prayer Of The Day For Wives & Marriage.  I love receiving testimonies from other wives sharing with me how the prayers I post have encouraged them and have been ever so timely!  I give God all the glory!! He is the one who inspires the words, giving me the time to be able to share these prayers with all of you!  Below is a testimony of a woman who recently expressed how valuable the prayers have been in her life!  I hope you are just as encouraged as I was when I read her letter! The last few days have been very overwhelming for me.  The cause of my anxiety was revealed to me early this morning, and I shamefully admit that it revolves around money.

My husband and I have been waiting eagerly for his check to come through.  Our funds were running low… very low... and the thought of not having enough money for the week was looming over my head like a dark storm cloud.

The fear I had well up inside of me was seeping out.  Randomly during the last few days people around me would ask if I was ok.  They sensed my beat was off.  I assured them that I was fine, blaming most of my flustered appearance on pregnancy.

Could they see through that?

Was my panic visible, even if I do not say exactly what I am consumed by?

This morning I woke up as my husband got ready for work.  The first thing that popped into my mind was to ask him, “Did your check come through?” Read Full Article

Our Words Matter popular posts encouragements for wives words The Better Mom Unveiled Wife

 Our words matter!

Not just our words, but how we present our words matter.  The tone in our voice, the posture of our body language, and the attitude behind our words all matter.

Communication is a gift God has given us so that we may express ourselves, share life with others, and build relationships.  However, this gift can be misused or abused all in HOW we communicate.  This verse below is a great reminder to use God’s gift of communication for the building up of one another, especially our spouse and children!

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” – Ephesians 4:29

Please join me at The Better Mom today where I expound on why Words Matter!

I heard a story recently of a couple who were married for 26 years, had such a tough time they followed through with a divorce, but then reconciled shortly after and remarried!  They just celebrated their one year (27 year) Wedding Anniversary!  It was so encouraging to hear a testimony of reconciliation and it also reminded me that revival can happen at anytime!

So what better time than now?
