Do you ever feel like you need a marriage makeover?

How about a little remodeling?

I have felt this way in my marriage… in fact there have even been times that I will admit I would have loved to demolish what was existing to be able to start over again!  You know what I mean… those frustrations or fights that break out, leaving couples feeling completely hopeless in their relationship.

Marriage is an ebb and flow of “for better” and “for worse” – good days and not so good days.  It is built by the experiences and interactions of a husband and wife over time.  Marriage is a commitment made by husbands and wives to love and honor each other.

It is a relationship that requires investment!

If you want a marriage makeover, you first need to evaluate and assess the present condition of your marriage.  Think about the areas of strengths and weaknesses in your relationship.  Consider what things you would like to see change, or characteristics in either you or your husband you would like to see transformed.  And just like a building cannot be constructed without permits and inspections to check the foundation and construction along the way in comparison to the master blueprints, it is crucial for husbands and wives to remain accountable to the blueprints of marriage God has outlined for us in His Word.  God is the one who has designed, created, and established marriage, and I believe He knows it best.  So if you want your marriage makeover to be a success DO NOT skip over what God says about marriage in the Bible!

If your marriage is not where you desire it to be, I want to encourage you to take time to invest into it one day at a time. Do not let this list overwhelm you, but rather allow it to inspire you with a plan of action to believe in what it can and will be in the future.

Transformation is possible, I know because I have experienced it.  My husband and I were failing in our marriage, close to getting a divorce.  We needed an extensive marriage makeover, and to be honest it has taken years to rebuild, but we are doing it together…and the more we accomplish the more motivated we are to keep investing!
