Prayer Of The Day – When Hope For Marriage Seems Lost

Dear God,

Some wives are really hurting.  Some wives have lost hope for their marriage.  Some wives don’t know where to turn.  I pray that you would renew their faith!  Help them to see what hasn’t happened through your power just yet.  Help them to hang on through those tough, exhaustive, painful moments.  Restore their hearts O Lord!  Show them how to be sustained day by day by you!  I pray for their husbands, that they may submit to you and lead their families as you have called them too.  I pray that they learn how to love their wives as you have built them too.  I pray that they surrender it all Lord.  Reconcile these relationships and rebuild these marriages in Jesus name AMEN!

     Diane, I had the same “very” issues in my marriage and it will take one of them to humble themselves in order for restoration to begin.  We tried counseling at the church but, for some reason men don’t like airing their issues.  I needed to talk and get wisdom from more experienced women of God.  That helped me.  I prayed that God would soften my heart, I stood on his promises regarding marriage and confessed them daily.  I prayed over my husband daily, got Stormie Omartian’s “Power of a Praying Wife” and I took my eyes off of me and put them on God.  I also started getting involved with others. He is the only one who can restore and after 8 months of separation my husband returned home.  We still have issues here and there and I recognize when the enemy has come in and at that time I look for where a door may have been open to the enemy.  Again, I pray more and put my eyes back on the Lord.  God is so faithful, he loves us and we are the apple of his eyes.  I knew depression all too well, some days I would not want to get out of bed.  I had to use pills to go to sleep and pills to wake up, weigh was up and down, distanced myself from family/friends.  I sincerely pray for your family, I know the pain of a failing marriage.  Tell her that God is Greater than………………….(anything).

    Yes,Amen! This sounds just how my daughter Rachelle is feeling about her marriage and her husbanD Rigobertoright now! They have given up faith and hope and trying,are very depressed and filled with distance,coldness,resentment and bitterness, lack of intimacy ,closeness and joy, don’t talk, hold hands or kiss or snuggle, and are sleeping in separate beds! They have a 2 yr. old little boy who loves and needs them both very much,and who is hurting and confused by their distance and coldness! Rigo has started drinking again which is causing even more problems! The enemy is attacking them with a vengeance thru worldly non-christian friends tellin her she should leave him or that she doesn’t need him, or deserves better,or needs to be happy, or needs to do what’s best for her, divorce isn’t that bad, her son will survive, and they’re invitin her to clubs to dance and drink or midnight bowlin without her husband! They need a miracle from God!!! Please pray God will soften their hardened hearts, and draw them near to HIM and each other and their son, and help them to see one another thru God’s eyes of mercy and love, and that they’ll listen to God’s voice and not the voice of the enemy!!!! That God would deliver Rigo from alcohol and a critical and sarcastic spirit! Please pray God will give Rachelle a burden for her husband and marriage and son! That she would pray again, and look to God and not miss out on the miracles God has in store for their marriage! That God would cause love and joy to grow between them again! Thank you and Blessings!
