The Royal Wedding – Every Girl’s Dream

One week from today our televisions, news homepages and radios will flood with the Royal Wedding updates.  The buzz has already begun.  Next Friday April 29, Prince William will say “I Do” to his beautiful Bride Kate Middleton.  I love what William told the press over a cup of tea: “I want this marriage to last forever.”  Lets pray that his devotion and determination never fade, rather grow deeper and more passionate as he continues to treat Kate as the Princess she is!The Royal Wedding Every Girls Dream encouragements for wives Princess prince william kingdom King heirs God Christian Wife Christian Community Unveiled Wife

If you’re like me you LOVE weddings and they always make you tear up.  If I happen to catch any of the media coverage, I am sure to shed a few:) The celebration of two people coming together is an amazing depiction of the salvation story, Christ uniting with His church!  I will admit I have been an admirer of Prince William since I was a young girl.  I first learned of his existence during the unfortunate news of the death of his mother, which controlled the media for days.  I was heartbroken for their family and captivated by the life of Princess Di.  Amidst the tragedy I remember finding a liking for Prince William, his good looks and charming smile were irrefutable.   I caught myself many times day dreaming of how I would grow up and “bump” into Prince Charming, somehow ending up in a fairytale happily ever after story.  Then I actually grew up, reality set in and I lost most of my interest.

From a very young age, little girls are exposed to the hero Prince Charming and refuse to accept anything less.  Disney movies have created an empire off of their princess movies.  The idea of being a princess is sought after by every girl, our hearts crave the beauty and royalty which that kind of a role has to offer.  The Royal Wedding Every Girls Dream encouragements for wives Princess prince william kingdom King heirs God Christian Wife Christian Community Unveiled WifeWhy when we are children we believe we are princesses, but when we grow up we can’t relate anymore?  Even if it’s still a desire… it seems like a fallacy, a fading dream, an unrealistic, unreachable lie from our childhood.

Ok we might never get the publicity that the “Royal Family” receives; with over 2 billion viewers anticipated, anxiousness over invites and daily news channels interested in the dress details.  We will never have tangible jewels, crowns or gowns, however, we need to remember what God says about us, not only walking in confidence, but sincerely believing the truth in His word!

First, lets take a look at scripture to see who God is…

Deuteronomy10:17  “For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.”

1 Timothy 6:13-16 “In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.”

We understand how Royalty works and how a Kingdom operates, right?  There is a King or Lord who reigns the throne; Power and Majesty belong to Him (or her in the case of the current Royal family:)  These verses clearly point out the fact that God is the ultimate King, the one and only ruler!  Now lets dive into scripture to see what it says about His Royal family…

John 1:12-13 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

Romans 8:14-17 “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba,Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.  Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

Colossians 1:9-14 “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,  and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified youto share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

So by submitting your life to God, accepting His truth and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior, qualifies you to be Heirs of His Kingdom.  This is not a fairytale drawn up on the Disney storyboards.  This is as real as it gets!  God, the King of kings wants YOU to be an Heir to His Kingdom, a Princess of Noble character, a member of THE Royal family:)

Just to add a beautiful description to us PRINCESSES to show our worth and encourage us to walk in confidence…

Proverbs 31:10-11 “A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.”

Proverbs 31:29-31 “ ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.  Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

We are still and forever will be Princesses in our Father’s Kingdom!  Own the adoption of Royalty God has given and look at your husband as YOUR Prince Charming!

And to Prince William and Kate… Congratulations!  We are praying for your marriage to be full of joy and support!

What a great post! I took a different perspective on all the media coverage of the Royal Wedding in a blog I wrote here http://www.3-foldcord.com/2011/04/what-idols-do-you-worship.html

You’re perspective is more graceful and has a much better conclusion! I love the all the scripture that points out that we are heirs to the kingdom, that we are indeed priests and kings (or princesses). So much of the time we long for recognition or spotlight, but we really can’t get more of credential to stand on than being the chosen blood-bought children of the living God! I am constantly trying to be good enough in this world, but for God, He has always loved me. I have always been precious in His sight. I have always been His princess. Thanks for the inspiring post!

    Blessings!

Even after 32 years of marriage I still find my self looking to my husband as my prince charming…..there will forever and always be a need to feel safe and to be adorned as his princess, but its during those times that your husband is Not a prince charming and he doesnt treat you like his princess that the relationship you have with the father in heaven always comes through, reminding you of who you are in Him…a kings kid, created in his immage, being heirs to the throne of God, seated side by side with Jesus himself. That makes you a Queen…not a princees!
