UW Book Review – The Power Of A Praying Wife

At the beginning of April I picked up The Power Of A Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.  It has 30 short chapters – a perfect challenge to read one a day for a month – each one a different topic encouraging wives to pray for their husbands.  The title alone empowers wives, prompting them to take action in protecting their family!  The writing style is very comprehensible, making it a very easy read.  Stormie took 30 topics that are faced in marriage and provides a guided prayer for each one.  She also includes “Power Tools” – awesome verses – that reinforce why we need to keep God in the center of our marriage, why prayer is an important part of that, why praying for husbands

Jesus

Genesis 3:8 “They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.” When I was reading this chapter the other day, verse 8 stuck out to me. I wanted to share it with you and pose a question… Are you and your husband hiding from God because of sin? People avoid God all the time. Sin keeps them entangled in bondage, while shame and guilt keep them right there in the heat of it. Yet God says in Ephesians 5:11-14 “Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even  expose them; for it

The Preface

The launch of Unveiled Wife went without a hitch!  I was so blessed to get such a positive response from so many people:)  This website is so unique and dynamic that I wanted to explain a few things.  The first is that the articles posted will include my story, devotionals, encouragements, random thoughts, book reviews and interviews with other wives!
