Our One Day In Maine

Aaron and I have always had a desire to go to Maine. I wanted to get a taste of the New England fall colors and Aaron wanted to try the famous lobster. When we knew we would be flying our family to the east coast (partly fun and partly business) we decided to make a slight detour for one day and check out Maine. Our final destination was Peabody, Massachusetts and we had to be there midday on a Friday. We planned to fly into Portland, Maine on Thursday and head down the coast to see as much of it as we could. I can’t tell you how much this one day in Maine blessed me! It was a beautiful day. Living Out What I Say

A few days before Christmas I posted to Facebook and Instagram a quick encouragement and challenge to not let unmet expectations steal our joy on Christmas. I was sharing how easy it can be to have expectations and desires about how a special day like Christmas should go…but reminding us that there are times those expectations won’t be met. I knew this would be a great reminder for us all…but I didn’t imagine I would need this message to remind my heart not to be down because of what we would experience. Here is what I posted just a few days before Christmas: Christmas Eve morning our son Eliott woke up with a fever. I hoped it was a fluke and he would feel better

The Noah’s Ark Encounter In Kentucky

Our son Eliott loves to draw. He also loves Bible stories. Naturally, he tends to draw his versions of David and Goliath, Noah’s Ark, and Jonah. He has a desire to know God’s Word and to understand the different events described in the Bible. Here are a few of the hundreds of Noah’s Ark pictures he has drawn: When we heard about the Ark Experience we couldn’t wait to take Eliott. We knew it would be an adventure that would blow his mind. The Ark Encounter is a perfect family adventure. We spent most of the day there! Oh and if you plan to visit be sure to eat there because the food was really good. It is set up buffet style all-you-can-eat for a

A Strong Marriage Doesn’t Just Happen

When Aaron and I got married, I had believed that our love would continue to grow naturally. I expected marriage to come easy to us because we loved each other so much. I thought our marriage would be strong because we had a good relationship. In my almost eleven years of being a wife, I have learned that… Strong marriages don’t just happen. Good marriages don’t just happen. Loving marriages don’t just happen. Healthy marriages don’t just happen. Thriving marriages don’t just happen.  No matter how big and deep and wide a couples love is for each other, things happen. People are imperfect. Sin severs intimacy, causing destruction in worst possible way. A strong marriage is not blindsided by these imperfections and shortcomings. Instead, a

The Gift Of Motherhood & My Desire To Work

Follow here: Instagram.com/unveiledwife I wanted to share with you what I wrote on Instagram because it seemed to resonate with many other wives and mothers. I hope this encourages you too! . . .
