5 Outdoor Dates for Summer

It’s warm and it’s a great time of year to enjoy God’s beautiful creation with your husband. My husband and I love summertime, because it makes for fun, adventurous (and inexpensive!) dates. Here are five outdoor dates for getting outside and enjoying Summer with your husband: 1. Going camping A few times a Summer, we pick up and go camping for the weekend. Spending time together out in God’s beautiful creation is priceless. We’re away from the stress of day-to-day life, we’re unplugged from our electronics, and we’re getting exercise. Plus, it’s very inexpensive! Some of the camp sites we visit have small fees, and some don’t charge at all. It’s the perfect mini-vacation. 2. Going hiking If it isn’t possible to get away for

Scheduling A Date For The Working Couple: 5 Ideas

My life is a juggling act. My husband and I both work full time. Me, during the days.  Him, during the nights.  We have two young children, one in elementary school and one in preschool.  As far as the kids go, this schedule actually isn’t as bad as it sounds because there is always one of us who is home with the kids.  We have been lucky and have only had to utilize daycare/babysitters about two days a week.  And if you have had to find a daycare, preschool or babysitter then you know that finding the right one can be a challenge – both emotionally and financially. But as far as spending important time together cultivating our marriage – our schedules are a problem.

8 At Home Date Night Ideas

After thirteen years of marriage, three kiddos, nine moves (three of those moves internationally) and countless adventures in between, you’d think my husband and I would have this marriage thing all figured out. We’d know exactly what we need to keep the intimacy alive, communication flowing, and laughter abundant. But you know what? We don’t. Don’t get me wrong, we have fun, we laugh, we play. We also still have our fair share of days where we choose self over the other; to zing instead of uplift. Well, over the last year, we’ve been going through an awakening of sorts. A re-commitment to our marriage if you will. We’ve agreed to start trying as hard as we did in the beginning; starting with a lot

Date Ideas For Adventurous Couples – Geocaching

If you are like me, you can’t wait to just get out and go… It really doesn’t matter where (as long as it’s anywhere), when (as long as it’s now), or what you are doing (even if it means just driving in your car with no destination). My favorite thing to do is explore! Thankfully, my husband is the same way. His adventurous spirit was one of the things that attracted me to him and it’s still one of my favorite characteristics about him. We’ve been on many adventures together and they are always a blast! But… How do you incorporate your taste for adventure into a date? Hmmmm…. Well, it isn’t your typical “Dinner and a Movie” type date. Hiking local trails and Geocaching are

Looking For Crazy Date Ideas? Try Body Painting

Several months ago, my husband and I were stuck. We had gone to the movies so many times that it just didn’t seem appealing. We couldn’t go out to eat, because the money was a little tight. We needed crazy date ideas to inspire us… so we came up with a crazy idea. Crazy! I am a little nervous to tell you because I was embarrassed at first, but to this day we bring up our ‘Crazy’ date night. It was fun and extremely adventurous. Okay… you wanna know what we did? We bought a large canvas and some acrylic paints* from the local art store. The total cost of our supplies was the same price as one meal at the restaurant, about 15-20 dollars.

Dating Your Husband – 8 Creative Ideas

Do you remember early days of dating? You would do anything together. It didn’t matter. The point was you were spending time together, getting to know each other. What about after you are married or have been married a long time? Do you find dating harder?  Maybe there is more stress or responsibilities in the form of kids, aging parents, or job responsibilities. Or maybe you feel like you are fresh out of ideas. Since I became a mom, dating my husband is a lot harder. Planning a date, booking a sitter, and lack of funds and energy can not only feel overwhelming, but exhausting. However, I believe that dating is essential in marriage. If you exercise to keep your body in shape, think of dating as
