Encouragements For Wives

Encouragements For Wives are random articles intended to lift up wives including testimonies, inspirational images, quotes, etc. My hope is that wives would be empowered, no matter what condition their marriage is in, to remain committed to their husbands, pursue intimacy, and seek a God-centered relationship.

The One Word That Changed My Marriage

It was year 3 of our marriage. Things were rough for us then. We had yet to know what enjoyable sex was. I experienced pain every time we tried. This just amplified every single area of marriage. My husband and I were both Christians, we both wanted to serve God together, and we both had different expectations for marriage. Our first 3 years had taken a toll on us. Unmet expectations fueled a disdainful attitude toward God. We were miserable and our relationship was only hanging on by a thread. One day my husband invited me to join him at a Bible study group specifically for married couples. My heart resisted and my response was a quick, “No!” I didn’t want to be embarrassed by

The Star: Movie Review

Our kids love the excitement of going to the movie theater. There is something special about sitting in those big seats, staring at the massive screen, and hearing the surround sound with its intense volume. I Didn’t Know I Could Do This

I have been going to the gym for a few months now. The only other time in the last 10 years I went to the gym this consistently was in the last three months leading up to my wedding. I’ve done home workouts since then, but nothing as intense as what I have been experiencing lately. Pushing my body physically has never been easy for me. I guess that is the point of working out. It is not suppose to be easy, it is suppose to help you become strong. After having my third baby last December, I was feeling pretty weak this year. My posture was crooked, my muscles were puny, my energy level was low most days, and I just didn’t feel good.

What We Watch Together Matters

The other night my husband and I were cuddling in bed together. He had his laptop out and I asked if we could watch a show or a movie together. We started a new episode of a T.V. series we had recently started. Within the first few seconds a sexually explicit scene came on. My husband responded quickly to turn it off. I was bummed. I knew it was inappropriate for us to continue watching, but there was a part of me that wanted to be able to still watch the show. So I asked my husband, Can’t we just skip past that part?” My husband looked over at me and said with conviction, It isn’t pure.” He reminded of the scripture in Philippians 4:8,
