39 Rituals To Do With Your Family To Build Strong Love

Is today any different than yesterday? Yes, today is different and I want to celebrate! Today I woke up to a winter wonderland. The first snow of the season has made its debut and it is absolutely stunning. About a week ago my friends and I were in bible study discussing the importance of rituals – things we choose to do with our family that will make a positive impact on them. Ritual: always done in a particular situation and in the same way each time. My pastor’s wife challenged us to consider what kinds of rituals we already do or plan to do with our families to make our families closer and stronger. I had remembered back to my childhood, growing up in Southern California. Whenever

Affirming Your Husband In His Role As A Father

Today I am featured at The Better Mom where I share a personal story of when I affirmed my husband in his role as a father. {Read it here!} I believe it is extremely important for wives to see the value in our husbands and affirm them. I believe it is vital for us to encourage them in their role as a dad. Our words are powerful. Our words are meaningful. Our words can help our husband’s see the good they truly are. I experienced the transition from low technology use to extremely accessible and widely accepted technology use. The internet has been revolutionary and with each passing year there is a new phone, tablet, laptop, etc. I began using computers in elementary school and

Dear Mom, Yeah You…The One Who Wants To Hide Her Body From The World!

Dear Mom, I know you. I know what you are going through. I know because I am you! I have two beautiful children. They are pure treasures in my life and I would do just about anything for them. I have embraced my role as their mama and I thank God for choosing me and for trusting me, but I admit I have struggled to accept the changes I have found on my body when my kids came. Extra weight. Stretch marks. Saggy skin. Hair falling out. Dark spots. Discoloration. Wrinkles in places I didn’t know got wrinkles. My clothes are too tight and too loose. They cut off circulation, fall down, irritate. My wardrobe has significantly shrunk and I get anxiety if I have to dress up.
