Reviews of Christian Marriage Books & Movies

I started reading marriage books to improve the condition of my relationship with my husband. I felt led to write reviews that included how each resource helped my marriage to encourage other couples to use some of these tools to promote growth in their relationships and to give better understanding of what each resource is. I want to urge all husbands and wives to nurture their marriages by choosing the right resources based on their needs.

My Interview With Dr. Juli Slattery & Linda Dillow On Sexual Intimacy In Marriage

I had the incredible honor of being able to interview Dr. Juli Slattery and Linda Dillow this week! As I woke up early Thursday morning, I was eager to chat with these two brave and godly women who are paving the way for Christians to openly discuss intimate issues. Dr. Juli Slattery wrote a book titled “No More Headaches” that revolutionized my perspective of sex in marriage and it was one of the first book reviews I have shared with the UW Community.  I highly recommend it to every wife I connect with. This week was a little rough.  My son was really sick and I spent most of my nights tending to him into the early morning hours. The stress and worry that overwhelms

Happy Wives Do Exist – Happy Wives Club Book Review

Have you ever encountered negative comments from people about your marriage? You know, the comments that make you cringe inside as your heart begs you not to believe it!  I remember hearing quite a bit of negative comments from other wives just before I married, and sadly I still hear them to this day.  Comments suggesting that marriage is not bliss, that love does fade, and that happiness is the period of time before one is hitched to the old ball and chain. Unfortunately, these negative comments are not only shot towards wives, but moms as well.  As soon as I became pregnant I began hearing horror stories and disappointments feeding people’s negative comments that flew out unfiltered. It is amazing how someone else’s opinion

Beyond Ordinary By Justin & Trisha Davis – Book Review

The first thing that captured my attention with this book was the title, Beyond Ordinary: When A Good Marriage Just Isn’t Good Enough.  It immediately resonated with me because one thing that my husband and I have prayed for since our wedding is an extraordinary marriage.  However, with all the hardships presented in marriage it can be difficult to believe in extraordinary. I was so excited to read what Justin and Trisha Davis would share about, regarding marriage being beyond ordinary. I must also point out that I love the cover of this book! It brilliantly depicts a marriage story of a “picture-perfect marriage” experiencing brokenness, yet the background reveals restoration. My marriage relates to that, and I am sure many others do as well. In the
