Letter To My Husband – My Promise To My Husband

Dear Mason,

I want you to know how very blessed I am that God put you into my life. Almost 7 years ago, a series of “coincidental” events found us reunited after years of not speaking to one another. We met in high school, and the emotional attraction was instant, but our adolescent spiritual and emotional state did not allow us to understand how important our attachment was. We went our separate ways and made our separate mistakes, and there we were years later, making contact after so long. I guess that goes to show how God works in His own time. We weren’t ready for each other at 15…but at 19 and 20, we had lived long enough to understand how special that connection was.

Now, 7 years and two children later, I am much more in love with you than I was that day. Because now I appreciate you for everything God meant for you to be. You are an amazing Daddy to Ben and Lily, and a wonderful, loving husband. I’ve never met someone who was willing to sacrifice so much–a true reflection of the love of Jesus Christ. Because of the love you have shown, and the patience you have had with myself and our children, I want to make a promise to you. I promise to love you for the rest of my life, no matter how hard things get. I promise to maintain our physical intimacy, even if I don’t always want to. I promise to always appreciate everything you do for our family. I promise to support you in everything God leads you to do. I promise to allow you to lead our home in the way God intended, and to build you up as a husband, a father and a man. I promise to hold you accountable and to make sure that you stay focused on all your goals and endeavors.

I hope that you understand the depth of my love for you. I want both of us to draw closer to each other, and closer to God. I want us to minister to others as a team. Because we really make a great team.

Thank you for sharing your life with me. And thank you for being such a blessing in our family. I love you.

Love Your Wife
