This past weekend at Church was invigorating! The message was so encouraging, the worship was beautiful, the baptisms always make me cry tears of joy, and every other experience was awe-inspiring and obviously anointed by the Holy Spirit. My husband and I are so blessed to be part of such a great Church!
One aspect of our Church that we really appreciate is Global Outreach, the missions department. Every year people from our Church go to places like Kenya, Nicaragua, and India, to build friendships, to minister, and to encourage others.
In Kenya, there happens to be a specific school in Nairobi that our Church visits and supports as much as possible. This past weekend at our Pastor invited the congregation to participate in sponsoring a child who attends that school. My husband and I both felt the Holy Spirit tugging on our hearts to take responsibility in sponsoring a child.
After the service ended we headed to the foyer where a few tables were set up to facilitate the process of sponsoring a child.
There she was. Pascaline. Sweet Pascaline.
Together my husband and I committed to supporting this little girl. We already feel as though she is a part of our family and our hearts are filled with joy with this opportunity. Sponsoring a child requires selflessness and a giving heart, qualities I desire to have more of and see my husband have more of. May this journey bring us closer together as we give to another.
I wanted to extend the opportunity to you perhaps sponsoring a child with your husband.
Serving in this capacity is beautiful. I am eager to see how God uses this to bless our marriage! Below are two links that you can research to see if this is something you feel God leading you to do.
This is the organization we are participating with to sponsor our child: http://cmfi.org/whatwedo/childsponsorship
