Lean On God First, Then Your Husband {Proverbs 3:5-6 }

Almost every day of my marriage, I have been confronted with a choice…to lean on God or to lean on my own understanding, to lean on my husband, to lean on the wisdom of the world. There are many things in this life that seem like it would be helpful. In my pride I even believe that I know how things should be handled, the best way, the right way. Yet, God’s Word commands us not to do this, but rather to trust God and lean on Him! Many times I have sought wisdom, counsel, and prayer from my husband…and my husband’s response is, Have you prayed about it? I love my husband and I appreciate that he leads me back to God. How I Overcame Trauma And Crisis In My Life

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (II Timothy 2:13 NKJV) This scripture speaks volumes about the Hope we have in God. Even when we don’t realize that hope is present, it is. Therefore, we can always live in hope. The other night, I was sitting with my husband talking about how much has changed in our lives this past year when suddenly I began to cry. I really didn’t know why I was crying because I wasn’t sad. You see, I went through quite a crisis in my personal life this past year which only my husband, my pastors

Snapping In Selfishness

During my wives study last night we were discussing the characteristics of a noble wife in Proverbs 31:10-31.  It was an awesome experience to sit with other wives and discover how these noble characteristics are still relevant today, and it revealed more about my own character that I still need to work on. “She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household.” – Proverbs 31:15a “She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.” – Proverbs 31:18 We began sharing how these verses could reflect our devotion to our husband, in that we don’t necessarily get up early and go to bed late every night, but rather how we should be willing to sacrifice our

Are You Guilty Of Fueling Quarrels?

Proverbs is full of rich and wise scriptures.  I came across Proverbs 26:20 today and there was so much imagery implied in the word choice I had to share. For lack of wood the fire goes out,     and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.” Wood fuels fire, we all know that… but how often are we aware that gossip fuels quarrels?  This is especially important for us as wives.  We need to make sure we are not gossiping about our husbands when we are in the middle of a conflict with them.  Those who you are gossiping to most likely won’t ever forget what you tell them and they will probably form an impression of your husband that will impact the way they treat
