“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” – Charlie Chaplin
Laughing is a universal language that everyone understands. It is the way God designed us to express joy and happiness. It connects people quickly, in a way that is beautifully vulnerable; and everyone’s laughter is unique to them.
“Laughing together heartily at the same thing forms an instant bond.” – Liz Curtis Higgs
Many people can smile or even chuckle amongst each other in community, but a good laugh between close friends is a valuable treasure. Laughter shared between a husband and wife is intimate and memorable.
“You had to know a person well to make them laugh like that.” – Cassandra Clare
Laughter is a powerful weapon that lets walls down and breaks emotional barriers. When a fight lingers in marriage, genuine laughter shared between spouses has the potential of ceasing the tension. Laughter wins.
“I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful.” – Bob Hope
Laughter is essential for a marriage to thrive. Find time to laugh with your husband, even if it comes at the expense of make fun of yourself… its worth it!
Here are 6 ways to laugh more with your husband:
1. Start With Conversation – Ask him to share an embarrassing memory.
2. Be Playful – Play tug-of-war with an item that he wants, like the tv remote or car keys.
3. Be Witty – Tell a joke, or if you are like me butcher a joke
4. Be Physical – Initiate a tickle war!
5. Be Silly – Just start laughing, its contagious.
6. Make Fun of Yourself – Loosen up and dance!
I particularly want to emphasize #6. Loosen up and dance. I am a horrible dancer, yet when I feel like making my husband laugh I go out of my way to make myself look completely ridiculous through the art of bad dancing. The worse your moves, the funnier! I figured you may need a little inspiration for awesome dance moves, and while I would love to post a video of me dancing, I feel like Napoleon does it better! Enjoy!
What do you and your husband laugh about?

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Proverbs 17:22 We always have control over our attitudes….circumstances, not necessarily! Thanks for offering the link up! I do one every Monday at my place called Marital Oneness Mondays. I’d love for you to co-labor in the faith with me!

Thankfully, I married a ‘punny’ man….if we aren’t laughing we’re groaning at the corniness. Thanking God for the gift of mirth. Great thoughts, esp. be playful! Thank you for the link up.

LOVE it! We are going through some yucky stuff right now. (not in our relationship) We seem to end every evening falling exhausted and discouraged into bed. We could use some laughter… my husband especially could use a really good laughter break! I am going to make this my goal tonight! Thanks!
