Best Wedding Anniversary Gift Ever! things i love gift ideas for my husband gift ideas best anniversary gift anniversary gift ideas Unveiled Wife

On my 6th Wedding Anniversary I received the BEST wedding anniversary gift EVER!  My husband presented me with a book… but not just any book… a book that he spent a year making.  The front cover has a picture of us on it with the words “Ditto” which is a special word between us.  Anytime one of us sends a text or shares feelings of love and appreciation the other usually responds with ditto.  So when I saw the word ditto in my husband’s handwriting, I knew it had to do with his love for me.

On the back of the book was a collage of pictures of us together that my husband collected from my Instagram.  Below is a photo of the two sides of the book. Read Full Article

Utilizing Pinterest To Find Gifts For My Husband gift ideas for my husband pinterest gifts for my husband Gifts Unveiled Wife

I just wanted to share a way I use Pinterest to find gifts for my husband.

Finding gifts for my husband can be challenging! I created a few boards on Pinterest to help me in this area of marriage.  One is “Gift Ideas For My Husband” and the other is “Things My Husband Likes” – to these boards I pin anything that I think my husband will like and appreciate. I pin everything from DIY gifts that will show my love, to foods my husband favors, to products he may need, such as shoes or clothes. Read Full Article

6 Ways To Discover Gift Ideas For Your Man gift ideas for my husband gifts for my husband gift Unveiled WifeI am so blessed to announce that Rachel Wojnarowski is a contributor on Unveiled Wife!  I respect Rachel for her sharing her insights about life and family on her blog rachelwojo.com. She is a passionate wife, a dedicated mother, and a gifted writer.  God is using her in great ways to minister to other women and we have the privileged of having her share today on ways to discover gift ideas for our husbands!

Rachel writes:

Buying gifts for other people doesn’t seem to fall in my repertoire of God-given talents. Maybe it does for you, but seriously, I’ve needed help in this area.  Some couples are ok with just telling each other what they would like as a gift, whether holiday, birthday, anniversary or whatever.  Others agree not to buy each other anything for various reasons.  Honestly, though, I think the best gifts are the ones that were completely unexpected OR they were expected – and exactly what the person wanted.

So how do you figure out what would really bless your husband in the area of gift-giving?

Here are six ways to help you discover a new thought process for finding great gift ideas for your man.

1. If you asked him what he wanted, what do you think he would say?  Maybe something you saw him eyeing at the hardware store (power tools! 6 Ways To Discover Gift Ideas For Your Man gift ideas for my husband gifts for my husband gift Unveiled Wife .) Or time together?  Think about what you think he would say if you simply requested to know.

2. To unearth your husband’s needs, think in terms of categories.  What are his physical needs? What about his emotional needs?  Spiritual? Educational? For example, has he mentioned that he wants to learn how to play the guitar better? Then a month or two of lessons might be the perfect match. Is his Bible falling apart or has he expressed a desire for a different translation? Filling that need might be just the thing.  When you first think of the category, then gift ideas will follow.

3. Think of your husband’s personality.  Is he creative and zany?  Or practical and reliable?  Let his personality traits direct your gift thoughts.  The practical, reliable one might not enjoy a photo or momento as much as a new emergency kit for the car. The creative might not enjoy the emergency kit as a gift of celebration.

4. Ask yourself: What would he buy for himself that is within our budget?  There are times where I’ve splurged a little on my husband and cut back on something else because I knew it was something he would buy or do if he felt the freedom for himself.

5. When my hubby and I chatted about this article, he felt that most people enjoy the gifts that are the most well thought-out.  This requires thinking in advance- the day before his birthday probably isn’t going to cut it! So tuck those little “hints” away, post them in the notes of your phone or keep a list in your planner.

6. Reflect on any issues your spouse has that need solutions.  Now I don’t mean buy a super duper alarm clock with four snooze buttons as the hint that your man has a hard time getting out of bed! But seriously, is there an issue that just “bugs” your spouse that has a solution?  For instance, my cabinet space is limited and my spice cabinet has always been crammed. While I was out of town, my man bought some additional racks to place inside the pantry door for my spices.  You already know that I love him for it, right?

With a little forethought and creativity, your gift-giving can become more enjoyable and less like a task.  I’d love to hear about any ideas you use to find gift solutions for your husband; just leave them in the comments for us!

Have you ever struggled with expressing affirmation to your husband?

Have you ever desired to encourage him, but everything you try to say seems cliché?

I want to encourage YOU, that any and all encouragement coming from a wife’s heart purposed to affirm her husband will be treasured, whether cliché or not!

Guys were built with an innate desire to be respected and affirmed.  Those words that sometimes seem hard for you to muster up will feed your husband’s soul, draw him closer to you, and esteem him in a special way that only his wife can!

Now… if you are searching for some encouraging words to share with him, but need some help, here are a few tips to inspire your creative juices:)

Get a piece of paper and jot down whatever first comes to your mind when you read the questions below:

Why do you love your husband?

What are you thankful for that only your husband does for you?

How does your relationship with your husband exceed all your other relationships (except the one you have with God, of course)?

What is one thing that you appreciate that your husband has recently done to show his love for you?

You can use these questions to help you get started.  If you use these questions as a guide in the future you will most likely get different answers!  Take your answers and use them to write a note to your husband or use them in a verbal affirmation.  The great thing is that your answers are personal to you and your husband!  I am sure he will receive your encouragement with great joy:)

Here are a few other ways to encourage your husband:

-Pray for him

-Recite a poem or quote and relate its relevancy to your marriage

-Thank him for something he has done

-Tell him how he is a good husband

-Tell him how he is or will be a good father

-Explain how when he does something specific it touches your heart

-Thank him for working to provide

-Compliment his physical appearance or explain a favorite body part of his and why

-Explain why you admire your husband (especially his walk with God)

I hope that these help you get a little more creative when you are trying to find genuine ways to lift up your husband!  I would also love to know more ways to encourage husbands so please share!!!How To Find Encouraging Words For Your Husband gift ideas for my husband encouragements for wives woman marriage Inspiration Encouragement Christian Wife Christian Husband Christian Community Unveiled Wife

When you are finished writing out the notes place them in different places for him to find. For example, taped to a mirror, in his underwear drawer, in his lunch bag, taped to the steering wheel, or hidden in his pocket. Don’t hide them too hard, remember you want him to find them. He may be caught off guard with the first one and definitely be surprised with each one he receives. Men love to be affirmed and it is a way to show your respect for him. This will surely put a smile on his face and warm feeling in his heart! Good Luck! Let us know how it goes by sharing in the comments section below:)
