Marriage Devotionals For Wives

My purpose for these short marriage devotionals are to encourage wives through God’s Word. Each devotional has God inspired content, based on what God is currently teaching me. His Word is rich in wisdom and comfort and I believe it is important that we are encouraged through scripture, especially about marriage and relationships.

Never Let Me Hear You Say You Never…

I was reading Your Word today. Which is so amazing when I think about the following verses… In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. – John 1:1-2 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12 Essentially, I was reading YOU! Not just Your words! The Bible is not just some book of old letters…it IS YOU! Thank You for that! I have been reading in Matthew. It seemed appropriate to refresh my soul on what You did leading

31 Day Prayer Challenge For Marriage

Prayer is the way in which we communicate with God. I have experienced a huge positive impact in my marriage because of prayer. Whether my husband and I have faced good times or really difficult trials, prayer has brought us closer together to each other and closer to God. And when we were extremely broken, ready to give up all together, God heard our prayers and He saved us! He saved our marriage! Prayer is beautiful. Just having intimate access to talk to God and knowing He desires to hear from us is pretty incredible. Then as we specifically pray for marriage, it aligns our hearts with His will. To go even further, when we pray with our spouse, they get to hear what we

Do You Feel Sustained In This Life?

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.” – Hebrews 1:3 When I read this verse, I immediately thought of the actual sun. The sun and the radiance beaming in brightness has always reminded me of God’s glory and I feel like this verse confirms that for me, even though it says “Son” as in Jesus. I also love the second part of this verse, specifically when it says, “sustaining all things by his powerful word.” Sustaining is defined as: strengthen or support physically or mentally. Jesus sustains us by strengthening us and supporting us physically and mentally. He is our support, our refuge, our everything! Another definition describes sustaining: undergo

Are You A Committed Wife or A Casual Wife?

Before you answer the question of whether you are a committed or a casual wife, I ask you to walk through the following scripture and evaluate your relationship with God. By doing so, you will be led to the truth of whether you are committed or casual. Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate their father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.”  – Luke 14:25-27 Jesus wants you to love Him so much that there is no comparison, not even with your spouse!  With any relationship

Lean On God First, Then Your Husband {Proverbs 3:5-6 }

Almost every day of my marriage, I have been confronted with a choice…to lean on God or to lean on my own understanding, to lean on my husband, to lean on the wisdom of the world. There are many things in this life that seem like it would be helpful. In my pride I even believe that I know how things should be handled, the best way, the right way. Yet, God’s Word commands us not to do this, but rather to trust God and lean on Him! Many times I have sought wisdom, counsel, and prayer from my husband…and my husband’s response is, Have you prayed about it? I love my husband and I appreciate that he leads me back to God. We should

Wives After God: 12 Week Small Group Study

I was looking for authentic community. I was hoping to build strong friendships with other wives. I was in need of conversation that didn’t shy away from significant marriage topics and how God’s Word applies to our lives. That is when I invited a few other wives to join me, to come to my house and to spend time searching scripture and talking about our perspectives of marriage, as well as what we can do better in our roles as wives. These friends came once a week for 3 months straight. Our dedication to study and experience fellowship was immense. Every single one of us grew leaps and bounds in our understanding of our calling as wives. It was beautiful. I wanted other wives to
