For Anyone Married To A Spouse With ADD or Asperger’s

A few wives in our community recently asked for encouragement and resources regarding husband’s with ADD or Asperger’s. I do not have any personal experience with this type of situation so I reached out and asked the Unveiled Wife Community on Facebook for some help. It was a joy to see over 200 of you take the time to share your story and add some encouragement for wives enduring a similar situation. One of the top comments on the thread that seemed to resonate with many other wives was by CJ: Hubby with ADHD here. It’s difficult. I can get in the flesh quickly thinking that he’s forgetful, distracted, thoughtless, disorganized, zoned out, can’t sit still, plays too much, is selfish at times. However, One

How Being Broken Sexually Almost Destroyed My Marriage

My body was broken and it hindered me from being able to have sex with my husband. We suffered for years, unable to physically connect as one flesh. I can count on one hand the amount of times we actually had intercourse in the first three and half years of our marriage, none of which were enjoyable. I tried pushing through the pain I experienced every time we tried to have sex, but nothing seemed to work.  I hate that we even referred to having sex as “trying” when all I wanted was for it to be completely fulfilling. At one point I had gathered the courage to see a doctor, fearful that I would receive bad news for my condition yet eager to find

Resources To Educate Yourself On Pornography

You have an incredible gift, the gift of learning. We all learn through experience as well as through reading and researching.  One of the greatest tools used in retraining behaviors, improving, breaking habits, or making adjustments in life is learning. The more educated we are about ourselves and about the issues that concern us, the better we are at making choices that benefit us and others. I use to struggle with pornography, and one way my perspective and desire changed about it came as I learned more about its devastating affects to my body/mind, learning what the industry is truly like, and ultimately paying attention to what God says about sexual impurity being a sin. The more information I received, the more I was equipped

Pulling Back The Shades: Erotica, Intimacy, and The Longings Of A Woman’s Heart by Dannah Gresh and Dr. Juli Slattery is a beautifully written, Biblical response to the rapidly growing trend of accepting and normalizing erotica, specifically 50 Shades of Grey, as well as addressing other issues that have to deal with sexual and emotional intimacy. {Check out my interview with Juli Slattery regarding sexual intimacy!} As much as this book is a powerful resource that confronts the issue of erotica, very specifically the series 50 Shades of Grey, Dannah Gresh points out, This book is about the spiritual battle for the hearts and souls of women. (146) I love that she added that to the text. I hope her words show you this book was

Do You Need A Marriage Makeover?

Do you ever feel like you need a marriage makeover? How about a little remodeling? I have felt this way in my marriage… in fact there have even been times that I will admit I would have loved to demolish what was existing to be able to start over again!  You know what I mean… those frustrations or fights that break out, leaving couples feeling completely hopeless in their relationship. Marriage is an ebb and flow of “for better” and “for worse” – good days and not so good days.  It is built by the experiences and interactions of a husband and wife over time.  Marriage is a commitment made by husbands and wives to love and honor each other. It is a relationship that

25 Verses To Pray Over Your Husband

I believe that prayer is a vital part of a successful marriage, because you are inviting Christ into your marriage to shape each of you as He desires. It is not up to you to change and shape your husband, it is up to Christ, after all He knows so much better than we do. I believe you can bring good to your husband through prayer, prayer for his integrity, his strengths, his weaknesses, his walk, his work – for every aspect of His life. If you aren’t praying for these things for your husband, who is? I want to be a prayer warrior for my husband and my family. My hearts desire is that my husband would feel covered in prayer with intentionality and meaning
